GOVERN M ENT ENDOWMENTS.

In the House on Tuesday afternoon, Mr 0. J. Johnston asked the Government what reply, if any, had been returned to the application of the Wellington Harbour Board for suitable endowments, which was published some time ago. The Colonial Treasurer replied that no answer had yet been forwarded to the Board, as the matter was still under the consideration of the Government. When the Government had come to a determination on the subject, he would let Mr Johnston know. He might mention, however, that there were a great many applications m the same direction all over the colony. The subject was too large to be dealt with all at once.
