. -. . . » — . Tbe nominated system of immigration has applied m an original manner. The object of the system has been to enable people m the colony to bring: out their friends, so that the new arrivals misht have homes to come to. But a gentlemen m Rangitikei conceived the idea of sending out servants who had no relatives m the colony, and it was done m this way; Ten families agreed to take a woman-servant each, and one settler nominated the ten. The selection was made of persons of known £iJgood oharacter m England, and they ■J^ve been sent out to the settler whose fl^iome awaits them, and from which they will be sent to the different families who were parties to the arrangement. Tin experiment will be watched with interest.
