I fBY TELTCCHUPH.) (UNITED PEEPS ASSOCIATION.) Wellington, This Day. In the House last night Mr Montgoraerv moved his anti-central resolutions.. " He contended that the central svatem had failed m its promises, and broken down m its finances. The debate was con inued, Mr Turnbull had supported abolition but now saw it was a mistake. It had failed to realise what was expected, and had intensified tbe evils it was intended to cure. Some change was absolutely necessary to avert the serious crisis aris* insr. Mr J« W. Thompson moved the adjournment of the debate till Thursday. Major Atkinson objected,and moved Wednesday, as the debate had really become one of no confidence. Mr Joyce said the discussion was quite useless, a? the result had been determined by the compact entered into with the Canterbury members about th^ railway, He declined to even disenss the revival of provincialism, but but was prepared to support modified provincialism, Mr Levastam hoped the debate would be carried on to sjet out the facts of the compact which had been made m defiance of what had b j eri" promised m the Public Works Statement. The debate was aJjourned to Wedesday The House rope at 12 o'clock,
