V- HORRIBLE GUN ACCIDENT. A LAD KILLKD BY HIS BROTHER. (BY TELEGRAPH.) F (UNITED PBEBS ASSOCIATION.) ::■': Blenheim, July 7. *~ A horrible accidect with a gun a gun occurred m town to-day. A loud re- ■ port was heard at the back of Mr John Smith's (tinsmith) shop. A son of Smith ran wildly out of the Bhop and down the street. In the back room, a young lad was afterwards found hine dead on the floor, with a pool of .' blood-near his head. On examination it was found that there was the wound of a bullet on the left side of the face. Erank Smithy brother of the deceased, .'.' states that the gun was brought m _at dinner time by a settler for repair. He XDUt a cap on this to try it, and then, jAinking he would try another *un which had been brought about six age, lifting it down and put a cap on it. 3 ust as ho cocked it, his brother John ran across from the opposite side of the back shop, and, as Frank pulled the tiigger, his brother received the charge it contained full m the face. Throwing the gun down on the bench, and stupiEed with what he had done, he rushed out of the shop towards home. ; r I
