I ■ ••— — • — — ~ ! There hare been some curiosities in the way of directed envelopes under our notice, says the Wanganui Herald, but we sh uld not care to trace the history of one which' we saw this mora* ing. : The vague, ideas people at Home hare of the geography of New Zealand will be seen from theaddress — " Messrs Donald Bros*, Taupo Bay, Wellington." Phis letter started on its travels in September last from London, and reached the intended recipient, Mr Donald Ross, of: Taupo quay, yesterday. It is a picture in more than one ; s<>nse, color b-ung distributed in .graceful confusion over the surface, somen where about seven or ei^ht tints being ampl >yed in official directions, and tne number of amended addresses is some* thing amusing. It appears to have had a.mua>i interesting journey, as alto* pettier no less than 24 postmarks are to be found, irrespective of the " returned letter " ma'-ks. One reached the M!a.nawatit Standad letter box a few days ago, which in its peregrinations had trav^r.-ed the naost of the South Island, having no less than thirty-two post narks on if-. The fault lay in the address, which was Palmarston North " Oti^o.'
