Fire in Auckland.

A fire broke out at Hesketh] aid Aitken's produce store, Durham street, at 1 o'clock this morning, but it was got under by the Fire Brigade. The stock on the top storey consisted of fhx, hay, grass-seed, cases, hogsheads, &c. Jn the basement stoey, T. and S. Morrin had £2000 worth of casks and cases of ironmongery stored, on which the insurance was ,£ISOO m tbe New Zealand Insurance Company. This is partly damaged by water, hut owing to the darkness to what extent is not known. As the fire originated m the flax section, | it is supposed that it had heated.
