The London correspondent of an Auckland paper writes : — Tue AgentGeneral, a few day ago, visited the works of the Messrs Tborneyeroft at Cirswick, and inspected the four torpedo boats which, are being builtlor the .New Zealand Government, The first will be completed about June. They will be 60 feet m length, capable of steaming 18 knots an hoar, and will be luted with spar torpedoes. Sir DiLon. .Bell wit* nessed a trial oi a torpedo boat, of the same type as those for New Zealand, which ha& juat been comjjleied to y the Italian GoVdrument. Ie was a perfect Buccess. The Messrs Tnomeycrott are building- a large torpedo boat "jfer Victoria. She will be 113 feet m length, and will cost £10,000.
