The Fire at Dunedin.

(UKITBD-PEEBB ASSOCIATION) Dunedin, June 13. .It is impossible to estimate correctly the value of goods destroyed,: but an authority has given an. expression of opinion to the effect that £[00,000 will not cover the actual loss. The San Insurance Office suffers most, Messrs Gibbs, Bright & Co. having about £2000 worth of property des» troyed fhat was insured m it. There are some heavy losses among the consignees, however ; Berens & Co. lost! tipwards of £4000 worth of jewellery: on which there was not a shilling insurance. Messrs J. Rattray & Co. lost upwards of £1 000 worth of wire and rice, j»nd Messrs Neil & Co. are also losers to a considerable extent. Messrs -MvKerras & Co. had goods to the value 6i £600, and Messrs W. Tnrn r bull goods worth £ 800 destroyed, but both firms are fully insured.
