OUR LEGISLATOR.
Mr PoSTLETHWAITE, M.H.R. for Geraldine, does not seem to hare been highly impress d by his fellow-members. In his speech the other night he said : —"Some worked one way, some another. Borne thought and worked quietly, and some were always gabbling. Some members when they started to talk cleaied the House ; members would not stop to listen to them. They were powerful of speech, but powerless m everything else, and many members would do more good if they said less and thought more. It might seem as if he was making a point for himself by saying this ; but if he got a workman who was always talking, he knew that he could not be always working 1 , and if that was so m one case it must be so m another. A public man had better say too little than too much. There were young men who thought it necessary to more a number of resolutions and make speeches about subjects they had not thoaght about; it would be much better if they eat down and thought out the future consequences of what they proposed to do," '■
