The labor question m Fiji, judging from the Following, which we take from the Fiji Times, is vetting complicated : — * • Things are processing with the planter, and there is evety prospect thac before long he will have a high eld time of it with his laborers. Amongst a number of Ra men engaged on a Windr Ward plantation was one who acted as chaplain of the gang, and one Saturday this man failed ' to turn out with the others. Noticing his absence- from the field, his employer went to look for him expecting to find him sick. Instead ot this, he found him lolling on a mat m his bure, blowing a fragrant cloud from his Sfiluka, evidently m the rudest of rude health, bud apparently lost m pleasant abstraction of mind. * What m the thunder »re you doing there?' was the irate planter's not very polite inquiry, 'Go away «nd don't disturb me,' was the dignified response ; ' lam composing >ay seruion for Sunday.'," '
