uondiiion of export were all that is wanted, the New Zealand and Australian Land Company, is already m advance of the Ashburton Cheese and Butter Factory Company, having, m December, 1881, made a claim for the bonus, but withdrew it partly because of the condition of sale m a foreign market; stating, however, that their claim was withdrawn only m respect of the bonus then offered and not for that now advertised. From these remarks you will gather that the Government do not, I regret to say, think it desirable to make any alterations m the terms upon which the bonus is offered m the direction desired by your Company.
