At the Resident Magistrate's dourt last Friday, it was stated that a letter bad been received from the Minister of Justice to the effect that an erroneous practice had been adopted m Court by putting on the summons at the time of its issue, the charge for solicitor, regulated by the amount of the sum claimed. - The Minister of Justice suggested that, m future, tfiia practice should bo discontinued. The Magistrate, having heard the statements of the profession" present, intimated that bo saw no reason to alter tbe existing practice. Lyttelton, May 26. The British Queen commenced loading frozen meat on Friday for London, Nearly 1000 carcases of sheep, ranging from 591 b to. Bßlb, were taken aboard. In all 5600 carcases of sheep and 52 quarters of beef have been frozen ready for shipment. Bluff, May -28. The s.s. Kangaroo towed the .NewZealand Shipping Company's - ship Opawa out on Saturday morning. She has a cargo of 6500 sheep, and a quantity of wool and graiu.
