A paragraph m the Wellington papers is aa ifollows :— " W. We fear W. S is incorrigible. There are five bacon factories m Oam» aru, curing about 1500 carcases every year. : • We notice thai Mr David Knight was an advertisement m the Hawera Star rpquiring the erection of a dividing fence on his recently acquired property i Mr Knight will be much misted m Palmerston when he leaves for the north, which will be shortly. Persons indebted to Mr Charles Tncklebarik are cautioned against paying their accounts to Amos Burr, who is not authorized to receive monies or give recipts.on account of Mr Tricklebank. The district Court will sit on Tuesday week at 10 o'cl ock m the morning for criminal and civil business. We learn that Jordan's Horse Bazaar, m Rangitikei -street, has bnen leased by the proprietor for a long term to Mr Jno. Clere, formerly of the Nag's Head, Wellington, who ':enjoys a high reputation as a stableakeeper,and is favourably known to many travellers. "Harmony" writes; "I am glad to see by the Standard, that there is a probability ?of the capital Wesley an Church Choir concert being repeated, and I am sure many of the public will also be pleased. The concert wonld well bear repetition, and it is almost certain that a very numerous audience would as» semble to enjoy the really excellent musical treat provided for them." •-■' The Orange Lodere m Palmerston is rapidly gaining numerical strength. We learn that at the next meeting there are no less than fourteen candidates for ad« mission. The framework of the new dri)l»shed is m position, and reveals the outlines of a very comfortable and substantial buildinsr, m every respect well suited for its intended purpose. - ■" "We learn that the steamer Austral is not to take passengers on her homeward voyage.j It was stated that she was to take them at the reduced price of £10 per head. Ketnrn, train tickets will be available on Thursday next, Queens Birthday. To those interested m dairying two very important announcements appear elsewhere^ m connection with Mr *T. W. Mbnrad's efforts m this important directions, to which the attention of dairy farmers is drawn. - ' The preliminary advertisement of Mr Snelson's periodical boree sale, . at Jordan's horse bazaar will be found elsewhere. No entries will be received after 11 .o'clock on the day of aale. Mr Jno. Stevens addresses his constia i tuents at Marton this evening. W e regret to have to record the death of Mrs Charles Pharazyn, of Longwood, Feather stony news of- which has been received by cable. The deceased lady was staying at Rome, and succumbed to the mnch«dreaded Roman fever. This sad event will be deeply felt m the Wairarapat {
