Manawatu Standard (PUBLISHED DAILY.) Suivant la verite. FRIDAY, MAY 4,1883. THE SANDON TRAMWAY.
Elsewhere will be found advertisement inviting tenders for the supply and delivery of sleepers for the SandonCarnarvon Tramway. Tenders will be received at the County Chambers, Foxton, till noon of Saturday, June 9. The required measurement is 7 feet in length, and 7 inches by 5 square. All requisite information can be obtained at the County Chambers, Foxton. Tenders are to be addressed to the Chairman of the Tramway Committee. We have only space to allude briefly to the satisfactory amount of energy infused into the undertaking by the Chairman of the Committee (Dr Rockstrow) who has laboured con amore to bring the proposal, with which he has actively identified himself from the outset, to a satisfactory consummation . We doubt if in other hands success would have been achieved. We congratulate all interested on the fact that the first step has been tahen in a project, the finale of which should be fraught with substantial advantage to the districts of Sandon and Carnarvon and the adjacent localities.
