The New York correspondent of the Daily Telegraph says :— A brutal scene was enacted m the Court-house of St. Louis on Monday. One Parker, a man of evil reputation, was awaiting trial for nxurderj, his wife being present m the Court Before his case was called j Parker retired, with the permission of the acoompanied by his wife, to a private room on pretence of consulting his lawyers. A few minutes lajer the Court was startled by- the re^-; port of^a pistol, immediately sucoeeded.; by a second explosion. With the first shot Parker had killed his wife,: with the second himself. In both cases death was instantaneous.. The murder, and suicide had been planned beforehand, between husband and wife, the pistol. being supplied by Parker's sister.
