By request I took particular notice of the qualities of both and the quantities used, when I certainly pre« ferred to use the Brunner Coal, which I Hid for five weeks. It is a good steam, ing coal, very clean, no waste, and free from clinker, which I cannot say was the case with the Wesport Coal, there being a very heavy clinker and a lot of waste. A SPECIAL Ueaeral Meeting of the memberßcfthe Manawatu Permanent Equitable Building and Investment Society is hereby convened for SATURDAY, the twenty-first day, of April, 1883, at three o'clock p.m., at the Town Hall, Palmerston North, to pass the following resolutions for the purpose of altering, amending and rescinding the Rules of the said Society m the fol'owing manner, via : — 1. That the words •' or capital" be inserted between the word " investn ment " aud the word " shares "m the ninth line of i<ule XVIII. 2. That the words "or m the case of capital shares the Board may advance for any term not exceeding , one year, any sum not being more than at the rate of £6 13s 4d petshare, at such rate of interest nut being less than £7 per cent per annum as the Board may see fit : provided that advances to Members, under Tables B, C, and D, shall have the preference," be m Berted after the words "freehold security " m the eleventh line of Kule XVIII. 3.
