The Union Insurance Company of New Zealand have taken orer tbe carrent risks of the Victorian agencies of tbe Standard Fire Insurance Company of London end the Fire Association of London. The Victorian Parliament was prorogued to-day by His ExcelleLcey the Governor, who, m his speech on the occasion, said that the proposed annexation of New Guinea has given great satisfaction to the people of Victoria. Parliament stands prorogued until the 30th May. The Victorian wheat statistics of the northern countriee have been published. They show that the season's yield was 4,820,000 bushels, producing an average of 8.65 to tho acre, as against 6,800,000 bushels and ah average of 9.46 last year. The Australasian is sending an agricultural reporter on a lengthened tour through the United States. Adelaides, April 19. The advance official statistics of the South Australian wheat crop last season show that the average has only teen 4.16 bushels per acre.
