TO CORRESPONDENTS.

« Inquirer." — We have made inquiries, and have ascertained th it there has been no sitting of the committee appointed to investigate the numerous complaints against the Ranker, for the alleged imuroper discharge of his official duties. The committee consisted of Crs Snelson, Howlem, and Ferguson, but they have never been apprised ot a meeting taking place. Meantime the publie are very disatis» fied at the manner in which the question has been apparently shelved, one thing is very certain, that so far as ohe duties of Ranger are concerned, the town would be as well, and in some respects better off, if there were no such official at all.
