This measure, which came into force on September 15, 1882, contains some very important provisions. We have had several inquiries sb to what constitutes I service of notice under the Act. To be m accordance with law it must be performed m the following manner : — 11 Personally upon the individual to whom the notice is .addresued ; or by sending such through the post addressed to the person's last known place of abode or business m the Colony ; by fixing it upon some conspicuous place on the land to which such notice refers, or on some public road abutting thereon ; or if the owner is unknown, by inserting 1 m the newspaper circulating m the County or Borougn within which such lands are situated ; or where the came of the owner is unknown, notice may be addressed to the owner without any name being mentioned."
