West Coast Railway.

(BY TELBGRAPH.) (UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Wellington, April 4. The first annual meeting of thft Wellington*Mauawatu Rai-'way Company was held to day. In their report, the Directors congratulated the shareholders on the satisfactory position of the affairs ot the Company. Contracts have been lot for the construction of the Wellington-Lonsjburn junction, to the amount of £72,863. Several are finished, and others are m progress,* The survey of the line has advanced considerably, so that m two or three months tenders may be called for 88 miles. This will m«ka 85 miles m progress of construction. The report was adopted. Mr J. Plimmerand Mr Shannon were re-elected directors.
