In connection with the recent poisoning s case at Kaitaugata, the Star tonight says the tart was analysed at Balolutna, and found to contain alum. Inquiries show that Miss McCormick cooked the tart herself, cut it, and laid it on the table. It is believed she placed the alum in.the tart herself, and feigned illness with a view of eliciting sympathy from a young man who was present. The Supreme Court criminal business concluded to-day, when Thomas Debbie was found guilty on three separate charges of stealing sewing machines. There were numerous other charges, but these were not gone on with.
