(UNITED PttES=! ASSOCIATION.) Christohurch, March 31, The work of loading frozen mutton on the s.s. British King commenced this morning. Auckland, Mnrch 31. Mr McMinn, ex-member for Waipa, m the General Assembly, whose sudden death is announced, was apparently m good health yesterday evening. He partook of a hearty meal beiore retiring, and was found dead m his bed this i morning by the servant. An inquest is to be held to-day. Some Auckland merchants have entered into a contract with the French authorities to deliver 300 tons flour at Noumea, at intervals m the current year. The Ron. J. Bryce, Mr TTurstbouse, and Wetere procetd through the King Country* to Taranaki, via Mokan, after the trial of Mahuki and his followers is over. Captain Johnston, of the Marine Department, and Mr Blackatfc, Engin-eer-in Chief, have gone to Kaipara to fix a site (or the light-house to be erected. At the first annual meeting of the Auckland Agricultural Company, the report showed a profit of £13,000, being 16f per cent, on paid-up capital. Eight per cent, dividend* was declared, and the balance carried forward. Eight criminal cases and one civil case are set down for hearing at the Supreme Court, though there are nearly 30 prisoners, including Walker's ejectment caees,|aad Mahnki'sjoase,
