Force, left; the White Cliff camp yesterday morning to aasist Mr Joshua Jones and party with their horses round the point on the beach oh their way to Mokan. On nearing the tunnel, Rigby ro ie one of the horses and led the other two. The. horse he was ridinsf. became restive while swimming-, and he was not seen after rounding the point. It is supposed that he was washed off by a wave and drowned. Captain Messenger went with a boat's crew at once to the spot, and the men dived, but without result. In the evening grapp- • ling irons were obtained, and the body was recovered m about eight feet of water close to the cliff. :
