(BY TELEGRAPH.) (UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Christohuboh, March 29.
, An inquiry was held this morning at the Railway Traffic Manager's Offict into the causes that led to tha narrow esbape from a railway accident at Soathbrook last Thursday, The evidence, went to show that ; the station* master at Kaiapoi, after receiving advice by wire that the trains were to cross at Soathbrook that evening, instead of at Rangidra as usual, had made it known to several passengers, on the platforni, and that be had gone with the telegram m his hand towards tho guard s van to acquaint the guard, Guard Walters denied receiving the notice, but ; Mr fiourke states positively that he gave him the instruction. The evidence 1 will be sent to Wellington.
