A Newspaper CanVASSER.
We have received a must amusing letter from a resident of Wangauui, describing a visit of the canrasser of " au occasional paper publishe.l m Manawatu." He says for che*k, brass, and boundless assurance that canvasser should be given a medal. He described his paper as a journalistic Star of the first magnitude, with a circulation cf our correspondent forgets- how many thousand copies a week, but he remembers that it was more than one to every man, woman, and child, Natives as well as Europeans, m the Colony. He goes on I to say, " That gentleman has undoubtedly mistaken his vocation. He should [have beetf-'a travelling book agent, or a peripatetic missionary. He can * blow,' f^gas,' and to any given quautity, and there is nothing m the printing line «ant be done m his office or by himself." We fancy we J&ow this blatherskiting gentleman. Is it the Dog Inspector ?
