fBY TELEGRAPH.) (united pbess association.) Nelson, This Day. An inquest was held yesterday concerning the late fire at the Temperance Boarding-house, but nothing startling came out ; and a verdict was returned to the effect that the fire was accidental, owing to a foul chimney. Hop picking is now nearly completed. The total average m the Nelson district under hops is 587 acre?. It is now settled that the Nelson corps will attend the Wanganui encampment. Ihe garrison band and about 170 volunteers will] leave here by steamer on Thursday next.
