(united press association.) Wellington, March 19. The Victorian Government recently invited New Zealand to join m a conference to consider the advisibility of joining the Postal Union. The New Zealand Government have replied regretting its inability to take part m the conference, at it is impossible that a Minister could be spared to visit Australia so shortly before the meeting of Parliament. This is the same house m Herefordstreet East, outside the Belt, where the woman Gavanagh committed suicide .recently. The cause ot the firs is supposed to be a defective chimney. A tramway guard this morning found on the Heathcote .River bank some articles of female attire. The yolice are dragging for the body.
