It announces the King's intention to hold a meeting of all the tribas at Whatiwhatihoe during April, to discuss matteis of general interest to the native race. New Plymouth, March. 17. An Alexandra correspondent has just telegraphp^ to the Tarenaki Herald that M.r Bryce has seen Niu and Wainui, and had arranged for the exploration m the Kiing Country to proceeed unopposed. Mr Hursthouse is to statt again on Wednesday Auckland, Mrsch 17. The Hon. J. Bryce, Native Minister, hashed an interview, at Alexandra, with Wahanui, Hewi and other leading Ngatim&niapoto chiefs, respecting the Btoppoge of Mr Hursthouse. He has got a written pledge from them to permit the preliminary exploration fora lint of railway to go on. The Native Minister gave them v distinct assurance that the exploration would be simply to" look out a line ot railway. Mr Huißthouse will again start on his mission next week .
