A Valuable Hint.
An exchange has the following :— Persons travelling by railway are subject to continued annoyance from flying cinders. On getting into the ©yea they are not only painful for the trioraent, but are often the cause of long suffering that ends m a "total loss of sight. A very simple and effective cure is withia the reach of every one and would pre«. vent much suffering and expense were it generally known.. It is simply one or two grains of' flax-seed. These maj be placed m the eye without injury or pain to that delicate organ, and shortly they begin to swell and dissolve a glutinous substance that covers the ball ot the eye, enveloping any foreign bud* stance that may be m it. : The irritation of cutting the membrane is. thus pre-» ven ted, and the annoy arico may soon be washed out. A dozen of these 'stowed away m the vest pocket may : prove ia an emergency worth their number m gOld. ' ." ■ - '■■••!■■;' -^ ••'.•.>:;
