However, the body was identified by a woman as that of her husband, John Fowler. A | -few day after as the supposed widow [ was seated m her house, she was nearly [frightt)ne'd : out of-her wits by a man [walking m, whom she recognised as I the husbane whose body she had be» lieved to be resting m the grave. It proved that - she had: -been isdmewhat | hasty m her conclusion, and her husband took possession of the house and all it contained. Whether the gain was greater to the unhappy woman that he iived can.bejudged fr,o,m the fact that on : Saturday * ai ; : ih4 Central Police ..Court he was bound over to keep the peace to his wife, he having threatened to "cut her throat and tear her body ■limb from limb. '
