The Wesleyan Body.

THE NEW CHURCH. We again remind our readers of the public ceremonial to take place on Wednesday next in connection with the new Wesleyan Church. The foundation stone will be laid by Mrs W. P. Griffith, mother of the esteemed pastor of the Wesleyn congregation, and addresses will be given by a number of clergymen. After the ceremony, a tea and public meeting will take place in the old church, which will be presided over by Mr Griffith, which, we have no doubt, will pass off most enjoyably. We congratulate the Wesleyans on their rapid advancement in point of numbers, which has rendered necessary, increased church accommodation. The new place of worship, when completed, will be a credit to the, Wesleyan body, and an ornament to the town.

Mr W. P. Griffith, father of our resident Wesleyan Minister, occupied the pulpit yesterday at the Wesleyan Church morning and evening. The attendance at both services was very large, more especially in the evening. Mr Griffith's decription of the biblical countries through which he has travelled was most interesting, and his sermons were practical and to the point. The anthem rendered in the evening was capitally sung by the choir.
