A Cooling Drink.
An exchange says : — When you have any heavy work to .df., do not take cither beer, cider, or spirit 5 ?. By far the best drink is thin oatmeal and water, with a little sug\r. The proportions are oatmeal to two or ibree quarts of water. It should be well boiled, then lbz or l^oa of brown sugar added. Shak<» up the oatmeal well through the liquid, In summer drink this cold, m winter hot. You will find it not only quenches thirst, but will give you more strength and endurance than any other drink; At any other time, you have to make a very long day, as m harvest, increase the oatmeal to 1-^lb or l^lb to tbree quarts of water. A piece of lemon* peel with it is an improvement.
