SERIOUS DAMAGE. [bx tblbgraph.l (united pbess association.) Thames, Feb. 24. There is a heavy flood m the Ohine~ mutu River. . The two bridges on the Tauranga. Road, and the Owhawa bridge, are destroyed. The Paeroa steamer, and the wharf and sheds, have been washed away. The Te Aroha coach was stuck at Comata Creek, and the passengers had a narrow escape. Cattle are swimming m the paddocks between Pareoa and Puke. The storm is heavy m the Waitekauri Valley. It will take several thousand pounds to repair the damages. Rain is still falling. ■
