The Presbyterian General Assembly sat to-day with closed doors for the purpose of investigating the action taken by the Cbristchurch Presbytery m de« posing the Rev. C. Fraser, of Christchurch, from the ministerial office. After making an inquiry into certain charges of immorality against him, the assembly sustained the act'en of the presbytery. Rev. D. Bruce and Dr. McLpod were the only dissentients. The official visitors to the Kohitnarama Industrial School are investigating a series of charges preferred by a girl, Mary Wetherall, aged 19, against G.P. Hogfin, the master. The alleged offences are said to have occurred a year ago, when Hogan was master of the Howestreet Industrial School.
