COUNTY CONCIL.

LEASE OF FOXTON FERRY.

I By advertisement elsewhere it will be seen that the Manawatu County Council is infiting tenders for the lease of the Foxton ferry from April Ist m the present year to March 31st next year. Specifications may be seen at the County office, Foxton. Tenders are to be sent m not latter than 12 o'clock noon of Tuesday, March 6th, marked '*, Tender for, Foxton Ferry." The usual contingency is provided for by a clause to the effect that the highest or any tender will not necessarily be accepted. We should not be surprised if there were several tenders at good figures sent m, as it is affirmed that, properly and economically worked, the ferry is capable of returning a very substantial annual income, Mr McCulloch, the clerk of the Council, will afford intending tenderers all necessary information on application.
