A curious canoe adventure is reported from Lyttleton. Some members of the boat club m the borough resolred to row to Summer by night. They started at twelve o'clock, and paddled awry vigorously all night, enjoying the trip exceed* inply. At sunrise it was discovered to their great chargin that the painter had not been cast off, and that they had re. mained at the same spot where they had trken leave of their friends, by whom they are known as " the exylorers."
