(united press association.) f Age Specials.] The terrible catastrophe which occurred m Bradford on the 18th December,, when a large number of i persons were killed and others seriously injured by the fall of a chimney,' has bean made tha subject of a searching investigation. The conclusion arrived at was that the calamity wjw attributable to purely accidental causes. The Salvation Army carry on their operations at Geneva on an extensive scale. On several recent occasions they have come m collision with the mob, when uerious riots ensued. It being reported that an extensive Fenian organisation exists m England, active steps are b.eing taken by the police for its suppression and for the of the principal, conspirators. Murrain has broken out" amongst cattle m Egypt, and a large "number of fatal cases are reported. It appears from the statements of the informers who have indentofied four men concerned m the Phoenix Park murders, that it was not originally intended to molest Lord Cavendish. He, however, attempted to defend Mr Bourke, when that gentleman, who was the intended victim of the assassins,, was assailed. They were therefore compelled to despatch the Chief Secretary as well. The revelations recently made by informers have created a u scare" amongst the Fenians m Ireland. They have, for the present discontinued their meetings, and the distrust around has paralysed their proceedings. It is rumoured that Mr Ball; the sculptor, who recently obtained £5000 damages against Mr Lawes for libar— fie latter hvaing stated that he was not the author of several statues ascribed to his chisel— has decided nob to proceed further m the case^ and not to defend the proceedings instituted by Mr Lawes on appeal. An explosion of fire-damp has taken place at Rhondda. Six men were killed on the spot. .'■■■;-. : The disturbances "caused by ; the proceedings of the Salvation Army m Geneva have attracted the attention of the Governmemt, and orders havo been issued> fov the suppression of any further demonstrations on the part of the Salvation Army. The American Congres have, had under consideration the desirability of holding another international exhibition at; New York. The majority ot the members approved the proposal/ and were m favor of holding the exhibition m 1884. . l Mrs Langtry is now performing m the principal theatres of the Southern States, and bas ; met 'with a very enthusiastic reception, the theatres being more crowded than was the case when she appeared m the North. ,
