Serious Accident.
(BY TBLKUKaPH.) (UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION. Dctnedin, Feb. 9. A serious accident has occurred oa boad the Oam&m dredge m Port Chalmers. While hoisting a four ton cylinder one of the shears broke, striking J"ohn Basire on the head, inflicting a fracture of the skull, fracture of one leg and other injuries. The mau was removed to the Hospital m an unconscious state. The cylinder fell among the machinery, breaking the sole plate of the engine and doing other damage,
