"Poor Beggar!"

The Nelson Colonist somewhat anxiously inquires 1 — "Who is it?" The Manawatu Time 3 has found him. He speaks of Wpoor beggar who has been' kicked and cuffed about." Poor old fellow; whoever he 'is . This reminds one of the story of the penniless swell who was crossing, a muddy ctreet. Quoth he to the drowsing swcepe-, u flad you anybweakwast tD-daj, bwoy ? '' Boj, sadly, "Jtfo Sir." "is or a>y dinhah, ! bwoy? " No Sir. " : Wheah do you slepp, poor bvroy." "In the street Sir^-"Poor beggar!"( very sympathetically.) Sweeper eagerly j : "Have you a oopper for a poor lad,your honor >?ll ' r/ No my bwdy ? I havn't' a penny." Sweeper, pityingly, tl Poor beggar !" only he pronounced the term as it m the first syllable the rowel was the letter v.
