The Jones-Palmer CASE.
This celebrated case advanced a further stage yesterday) when a number of i bailiffs and their assistants seized a| larsje quantity of igoods m .default df ! payment, or security for rent alleged to < be due to Jones, by Crichton, the oc- ; oupant of the big building known as ■the Brethren's store, m T^eilding. The present claim is £108, being eighteen ! weeks' rent at £6 per week. A p>otes't was entered against the seizure, but as doe notice to give security had . been given, and bad not be«>n attended to ; the goods were placed m safe custody, ' and will be sold; unless cause be- flhowh ; or the claim satisfied, after the expira- ' tion of fire days. It eeems as if this • case were ejoing .to involve both expense . and trouble beiore it has finally concluded.
