Paris, .January 23. The question of expulsion of Bonapartists from France will be discussed m the Chambers on Thursday next. London, Jan. 24. At a meetiDg of shareholders m the ! Bank of Australasia, a ballot was taken to increase tho capital by new shares to the amount of £400,000. A scrutiny showed that the majority of shareholders were m favour of the increase of capital. At a meeting of the Colonial Insti* ; tute last night a paper by Sir Wm. Fox on New Zealand affairs was read. It deplored the impolicy of the premises made to the Maoris by the Treaty of Waitangi, and entered at length into the native question, from the foundation of the colony to the present time. The paper justified the confiscation of native hnds as a punishment for rebellion, and as a necessary security for life and the preservation of peace; The appearance of the ex« Empress Eugenic and the Princesses Clothilde and Mathilde m Palis, defying expul* sion, is stated to have caused the resig« nation of the French Ministry. " Spain has taken pessession of and occupied the Saitori and Sulu groups. Barrett^ recently convicted of agra* rian murder, has been executed at Tralee. The steamer Garonne has arrived with a cargo of frozen meat m excellent condition.
