The Nelson district by a long way holds the premier place m the Oolony with reeard to hops. The high prices obtained for hops m the Australian markets, viz. , 4s 6d to 4s 9 J per pound, has given an increased impetus to the industry. The Colonist says that hop growing bids fair to be the industry over all others m this district, ,
