Deadly war continues to b« waged by the farmers againiat the small bird?. It is estimated that within the last two months fully 130,000 eg-ga of small birds have been collected m the counties of Wai mate and Geraldine. Tha number of birds destroyed is also enormous. At the last meeting of Eyreton (North Canter* bury) Road Board, the clerk reported that 13,000 small-birds' eggs had been brought m by the boys and paid for at 2d per dozen.
