The performances of these animals m Kew Zealand and Australia need no comment. Le Loup won the Canterbury J. C. Handicap and Cup m 1880. Opera, grand dam of Morpheus, won the Canterbury Derby m 1864. Tambourini was also from Opera, by Towton, and won, amongst other races, the Canterbury J. C. Handicap and Canterbury and Wellington Cups, besides performing sue*, cessfully over hurdles. Salvage by Castaway ran second for the Wellington Cup last year, giving the winner a year and a pound. Won the Great Autumn Handicap at Christchurch, and is nominated for the Melbourne Cup. Royal Conqueror, a pure Clydesdale, took first prize at Batter, sea bb, a two-year-old, at the United Exhibition of the Royal Agricultural Society of England and the Royal Highland Society, and was therefore entitled "to be regarded as the best colt m England and Scotland m his year. He was selected and imported for Mr H. Redwood by the Hon. W. Robinson. Gipsy has taken two first prizes at the Richmond Agricultural Show. Prince of the Valley took first prize at'the Richmond Agricultural Show for three-year-olds m 1875> first prize for provincial bred m 1876, firat prize for provincial bred m 1877, and aUo first prize against all comers, beating the imported horses Sir Walter Scott and British General.
