GOLD ROBBERY. ( (by electric telegraph— copyright.) ( rbdter's telegrams.) Adelaide, January 18. The police have discovered a quantity of gold, amounting to 276 ounces, which it is alleged, formed part of the bullion stolen from the" ill-fated Union Company's steamship Tararua, some time before that vessel was lost. Ie appears that a man named Hunter who was formerly steward on board the Tararua, died on Sunday last, and before his death he requested his friends to forward to his brother m Ban Frana cisco the box and its contents, of which he kept a secret. Suspicion was aroused, and on the box being opened it was found to contain the gold.
