Bishop Moran.
The Dunedin Tablet, which is popu* lary supposed to be edited by Bishop Morrn, states that it is by no means unusual for a Catholic Bishop to con* teat a Parliamentary election. It especially cites the Bishop of Angers and the late Bishop of Orleans m the French Parliament. It adds that Catholic dignitaries and ecclesiastics have been, and at present are, members of the German and Belgian Parliaments, and English Bishops sit m the British House of Lords. A correspondent writing to the Wellington Post m reference to Bishop Moran's candidature for the Peninsula vacancy m the Eouse of Representative, points out that our episcopal candidate for Parliamentary honours is not unprecedented if we go outside the British dominions.
