Some of the society papers are sarcastic about the numerous paragraphs that have appeared re Mr. Francis Arkwrijrht's departure of ttew Zealand. One of the remarks — " It is certainly exfnu ordinary that a welNto»do country gentleman should dehberutely elect to ezchange a seat m the House of Commons and a beautiful home m one of Engltmd's fair, est shires for the doubtful ioys of a shanty among the Maoris. We cmnot, however, ace that the departure of such an eccentric individual is anything Ito deplore."
