Exciting Ocean Race.
j (BY TELKGRA.PH). (united press association.) Auckland, January 16. There is great- interest taken here m a race between the Union Company's steamer, Manapouri and the mail steamer City of Sydney, which left here for Sydney last Tuesday evening. A special cablegram from a passenger to the Star shows that, reckoning differences m the time of departure from Auckland, the vessels made the voyage within five minutes of eacii ether, both doing the distance m four days and two hours, or an average of a fraction over thirteen mile,s an hour.
