CORRESPONDENCE.
(TO THR EDITOR OV THIS STANDARD.) Sir, — I notice m your issue of the llth instant that the Taonui School treat passed off pleasantly and was very enjoyable. lam very sorry t© say I must differ with you m opinion, as there was constant, grumbling the whole of the day, which grn dually in* creased towards night, all through the action of the chairman of the school committee granting the use of the school for a ball m the evening. This is not to bo wondered at as the subscriptions were generally believed by the heading of the list to be for a picnic lor the children, T?hich had it not been for tbe ball,; would have been a decided success and might have been looked forward to as an annual day of pleasure for the ohildren. lam now afraid that the school treat will be a thing of the past, looked back upon with disgust as this is the second occasion . upon which it has failed. If . you will grant me space for the above m your valuable columns you will oblige. — I am, &c, Eye Witness, JRangitikei Line, January 1 3,
