Manawatu Racing Club
A well-attended meeting of the Clnb was held last ni^ht at the Royal Hote\ Mr Walton m the chair, m the absence of Mr F. Jenssen, by whom an apology bad been sent m. The following committee were elected for the enduing year : Messrs D. Knight, T. Knight, J. King, Pratt, G. A. Macquarie, F. Jenssen, J. Oi Nathan, W. Akers, T. H. Caverhiil, A. H. Walker, and J. Nannestad. Tha baianco sheet was read and adopted. It showed a credit balance of £182. the sum of £950 hating been received daring the year. A vote of thanks was unanimously passed to the retiring members of the Olub, for the efficient manner m which they had performed th u ir duties during the past year. On a vote by ballot, it was decided that the meetings of the Club m future be held at the Commercial Hotel. Hearty votes of thanks were passed to the late secretary, Mr James Kiner, for his energetic discharge of duty, and also to the ground committee, Messrs Nathan and Knight. Various motions and amendments were submitted, and either withdrawn or lost on the vote, m reference to the future subscription for membership. It was finally resolved that the subscription be one guinea, and that it be loft with the committee to decide to what privileges the member is thereby en tit 1 i. The question of appointing a secre» tary was left m abeyance m the means time, and will also be dealt with by the committee. A vote of thanks to the chair terming ated the proceedings.
